The Plan

This blog originally was dedicated to a surftrip down the westafrican coast from Switzerland to Ivory Coast starting december 2009 until june 2010.
Meanwhile of course we can’t stop travelling and other surftrips to westafrica or other parts of the world are or will be done, so we decided to keep this blog just to write a few stories from abroad. Not all from West-Africa, but anyway: Stay tuned!

The plan for 2010/2011

Patrick is already on the way towards Africa again; this time another route to get to Morocco though. Just spent three months in Northern Spain/Portugal/Southern Spain and will be in Morocco by newyear. Pascal will join up for the trip in mid-january, we will pick up the visa for Mauritania together and then rush through Morocco and the Western Sahara quite quick, stay in Mauritania until the visa will run out and then head straight to Dakar. And on and on and on… Unfortunately it will all depend on what´s going on these days in Ivory Coast. If it calms down again we might go through Mali, Burkina Faso and other countries in order to end our trip in Liberia again; if not we will go through Guinea again to reach it. We shall see…

The original plan and route 2009/2010

Patrick and Julian headed to Morocco december 1th to ride some good rights and eat tasty Tajine. Pascal and Matthias cought up there in january 2010. From Morocco we drove down as close as possible to the atlantic. Mauretania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire filled up our minds as well as plenty of african culture and empty lineups.

“Haraka haraka haina baraka.

Anyway, here is our prefered, yet not very exact route:
